Upcoming & Recent Pop-Ups

From neighbourhood corners to festivals, this is where you’ll find our upcoming and recent pop-ups.

Because we operate outdoors, and books don't work well in the rain, our schedule is weather-dependent. 🌧️ For day-of updates and last-minute changes, our Instagram is the best place to check for the latest updates.

We have more plans in progress, so stay tuned for more ...!

Inner Harbour

🗓 Sunday, August 16, 2026
📍 Ship Point Market | Inner Harbour, Victoria, BC

WATERFRONT BROWSING

We’re popping up at the Ship Point Market, right on the Inner Harbour overlooking the Causeway Marina, the Empress, and the Legislature.

You’ll find the book truck set up along the pier. Browse the shelves, pick out your next read, and take it with you as you wander the waterfront.

The book truck will be set up along the pier with a full lineup to browse.

Malahat Skywalk

🗓 Saturday, August 8, 2026
📍 Malahat SkyWalk – 901 Malahat Hwy, Malahat

BOOKS WITH A VIEW

We’re heading just outside the city for something a little special.

On Saturday, August 8, Meant Well Books will be popping up at the Malahat SkyWalk – one of the top rated experiences on Vancouver Island, known for its elevated forest walk and sweeping coastal views.

Whether you’ve been before or it’s been sitting on your list for a while, it’s the kind of place you go to wander, take your time, and stay a little longer than you planned.

More details, including hours, will be announced soon. We’ll share updates on Instagram and here e as we get closer.

Fairfield Pop-Up

🗓 Saturday, August 1, 2026
🕰 10:00 a.m.  2:00 p.m.
📍 Clover Residential | 394 Moss St., Victoria

BACK TO WHERE WE STARTED

We're popping up in the Fairfield neighbourhood - across the street from Moss Street Market on Saturday, tucked beside our amazing partners on this pop-up, Clover Residential, right next to the delicious Seal Point Pizza and just steps away from the charming Peckish Café. Stop by to browse books, say hi, and maybe grab a snack or check out some open listings while you’re at it.

Salt Spring Island

🗓 Saturday, July 18, 2026
📍 The Shop on Jackson – 116 Jackson Ave, Salt Spring Island

OUR FIRST POP-UP OUTSIDE OF VICTORIA

We’re taking the book truck on a little ferry ride and heading to Salt Spring Island for the day. 📚⛴️

You’ll find us parked outside @theshoponjackson — a wonderful general store celebrating Canadian makers — at 116 Jackson Ave (same spot as @thelittlecoffeecan if you like caffeine as much as us). It also happens to be the same day as the island’s Saturday markets, so there will be lots happening around town.

We’ll have the truck stocked, so you can find the perfect new read for the beach, ferry ride, or a quiet island afternoon.

We’re very excited for our first stop beyond Victoria. Hope to see you there!

Our 3rd Reading Party

🗓 Sunday, July 5
📍 835 Humboldt St, Victoria

FREE EVENT ALERT

Pack your picnic blanket and a book and join us in the field in front of St. Ann's Academy for an afternoon of reading, connection, and eating sweet treats!

📚 We’ll have the book truck, some dedicated time for both reading and chatting, as well as some drinks and treats for purchase — all in collaboration with @simonsaysvic.

This event is for EVERYONE! Bring your pal, pup, your mom, your neighbour, your fave barista! It is a beautiful opportunity to spend time outside in community to read and connect.

⭐️ ⭐️ ⭐️ It would be super appreciated if you could please RSVP by signing up on our Eventbrite (HERE) - this will help us know how many people to expect (e.g. how many sweet treats to bake, books to bring, etc.). See you there!! ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Scoops & Scooter

🗓 Sunday, June 28, 2026
🕰 Open at 1:00 p.m.
📍 Kid Sister Ice Cream, 1320 Esquimalt Road, Esquimalt

BOOKS + ICE CREAM IN ESQUILMALT

We're bringing the book scooter to Esquimalt for the very first time and popping up alongside the wonderful folks at Kid Sister Ice Cream for an afternoon of stories and frozen treats. 🛵🍦

Kid Sister makes locally crafted ice cream, sherbet, frozen yogurt, vegan sorbet, ice pops, fruit cream pops, and other seasonal delights using ingredients like organic milk and produce from local family-owned farms.

Since we'll be bringing the book scooter instead of the truck, we'll have a smaller selection than usual. If there's a specific item you'd like us to bring for pickup, just let us know ahead of time and we'll do our best to have it waiting for you.

Plus, there may be a few other surprises in store for this one...!! Stay tuned.👀

Parkside Pop-Up

🗓 Saturday, June 27 & July 25, 2026
🕰 10 AM – 2 PM
📍 Parkside Hotel & Spa | 810 Humboldt St, Victoria

TWO SATURDAYS AT PARKSIDE

We’re popping up at the Parkside Hotel & Spa – a centrally located, proudly Canadian-owned hotel in downtown Victoria.

We’re coming back twice this summer, and everyone’s welcome – whether you’re staying at the hotel or just stopping by.

You’ll find the book truck parked outside. Grab a coffee from Tre Fantastico inside, browse the shelves, and pick out your next read. Then take it with you – for a walk past St. Ann’s across the road, along the Inner Harbour, or wherever the day takes you. 📚☕

Shop & Sip

🗓 Saturday, June 20, 2026
🕰 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
📍 Wairua Cafe | 1040 N Park St., Victoria

FATHER’S DAY WEEKEND POP-UP FOR A GOOD CAUSE

We’re popping up at Wairua the day before Father’s Day with the book scooter, a smaller-but-mighty selection of e books and cards.

In recognition of the holiday, 25% of proceeds from this pop-up will go to 1Up Victoria Single Parent Resource Centre, a cause that's also near to our family's hearts.

Note: Since we’ll be bringing the scooter 🛵(rather than the full book truck), selection will be limited, so if there’s a specific title or card you’d like us to bring for pickup, feel free to let us know ahead of time.

FernFest

🗓 Saturday, June 13, 2026
🕰 12:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
📍 Gladstone (Fernwood side), Victoria

BOOKS BUILD COMMUNITY

We’re heading to Community-Led FernFest with the full fleet this year – both the book truck and the book scooter will be out in Fernwood for this community-led revival of one of Victoria’s most-loved neighbourhood festivals. 🛵 🛻

This year’s festival is being brought back by a huge collaboration of local organizers, artists, makers, businesses, and community members who stepped up to keep the spirit of FernFest alive, which honestly feels very Fernwood.

Expect 100+ local vendors and makers, live music from local artists throughout the day, food trucks, community activations, a licensed beer garden with the Victoria Beer Society, and family-friendly activities centred around Fernwood Square and the Fernwood Community Centre all day long.

Coffee & Books

🗓 Saturday, May 30, 2026
🕰 11 AM – 2 PM
📍 Discovery Coffee – James Bay | 281 Menzies St, Victoria

ONE OF OUR FAVOURITE NEIGHBOURHOODS

We’re popping up in James Bay for the very first time

You’ll find the book truck parked outside Discovery Coffee’s James Bay location. Come grab a coffee (or tea, etc., if that's more your thing!), browse the truck, and pick out your next read.

It also happens to be the same day as the James Bay Market, so you can easily make a morning or afternoon out of it.

Stop by, say hi, and stay awhile. 📚☕

Orchard Market

🗓 Sunday, May 17, 2026
📍 Junction Orchard & Cidery – 273 Prospect Lake Rd, Saanich
🕰 12 PM – 6 PM

BOOKS + CIDER + COMMUNITY (A VERY GOOD COMBINATION)

We’re popping up at the Orchard Market this May.

Orchard Markets are inclusive, family- and pet-friendly days at the cidery (with free entry!) — bringing together some of your favourite local vendors, farmers, and makers for a relaxed Sunday hang. You can browse market booths, sip cider, grab bites from Bicycle Pizza and other local food vendors, and wander Orchard Lane to shop Junction’s resident small businesses.

And yes — we’ll be there with the book truck, fully stocked and ready for you to find your next great read.

FYI: if it’s rainy or misty, we may have to sit this one out (wet books = sad books). We’ll share any updates on Instagram the morning of to confirm.

Every Orchard Market brings something new, and we’re so happy to be part of this one. Come make an afternoon of it — bring your kids, bring your dog, bring a friend you owe a cider to.

See you there. 📚🍎
